Leach Pottery Handled Bowls
Leach Pottery Handled Bowls
£75.00
A set of four handled soup bowls by Leach Pottery circa 1960s, unglazed on the outside and a celadon glaze on the inside. Each bowl varies slightly in colour and glaze due to their handmade nature.
The Leach Pottery in St Ives was founded in 1920 by potters Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamad. Leach was inspired by the potters he had learnt from in Japan and wanted to bring techniques he’d learnt there back to England with him. After Leach’s death in 1979 the studio closed down, but it has recently been revived and produces Leach’s ‘Standard ware’.
In good condition with the Leach Pottery stamp on each bowl.
