Teapot by David Lloyd-Jones
£95.00
A large teapot by British studio potter David Lloyd Jones (1928-1994), circa 1960s.
Lloyd- Jones was a self taught potter, inspired by the potters he saw in India whilst in the army in the 1940s, and by potters of the time such as Bernard Leach. He built his own workshop and kiln in Fulford, York, and went on to become chairman of the Craftsman Potters Association. Items of his pottery are in collections at the Victoria & Albert museum and the Crafts Council.
This teapot is in good condition with one chip on the underneath of the spout, and one small one on the underneath of the lid handle, as shown in photos. Makers mark stamped on the base.
