A pair of Japanese Mashiko Yaki studio pottery Yunomis (tea bowls) featuring a wax-resistant technique and a rich Kaki glaze in the manner of Shoji Hamada, dating from the 1960s.
Mashiko ware pottery is produced in the area around the town of Mashiko in Tochigi. Japanese potter Shoji Hamada was from Mashiko and started making pottery in the early 20th century and established Mashiko as a world-renowned pottery centre.
Unmarked and in good condition.
