A vase by British Studio Potter Ray Finch for Winchcombe Pottery, in a matte glaze with a distinctive raised decoration.

Winchcombe Pottery was set up in 1926 by Michael Cardew who wanted to produce domestic pottery for everyday use. Ray Finch began working at the pottery in the 1930s, and took over the running of the pottery from Cardew in 1939. He ran the pottery until 1979 when he handed over to his son, Michael. Finch continued to work up until his death in 2012.

A few light scuffs to the glaze, as shown in photos.

Stamped with Finch’s makers mark.
