Studio Pottery Lamp by David Heminsley
A stoneware lamp by British studio potter David Heminsley (1928 - 2007), painted on two sides with a deep brown and a lighter brown band, an unglazed band around the middle, and a subtle hand painted brush stroke in the middle on one side.
Heminsley began his career studying under Harry Davis of Crowan Pottery in Cornwall and later George Cook in the Lake District at Ambleside Pottery. He then became the senior lecturer and was head of the School of Ceramics at Belfast (Ulster) College of Art (1855 - 1973). He then moved to Balbirnie, Fife in Scotland and set up his own pottery from 1973 - 1993. Some of his work is now held in the collections at the Walker Gallery in Liverpool and the Aberdeen Museum and Art Gallery.
Newly re-wired with a light brown twisted cord flex and UK plug. PAT tested.
In good condition, stamped with the makers mark.
