Leach Pottery Standard Ware Bowl
£85.00
A vintage Standard Ware bowl by the Leach pottery in St Ives, founded by Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada in 1920.
The stoneware bowl from their classic Standard Ware range is glazed dark green on the inside with a faint Leach pottery mark stamped on the base, dating it to the 1950s. The Standard Ware collection is still in production today but with many alterations to techniques, shapes and glazes made since the first standard ware catalogue was published in 1946. Examples of Standard Ware pieces are held in the Tate Galleries and V&A Museum collections.
